Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 August 2026
This site collects no personal data beyond anonymous, aggregated visit statistics. There are no cookies, no advertising trackers, no profiling, and no accounts.
Who is responsible
The data controller for this site is:
Full postal address for formal correspondence: available upon request, or via email for legitimate legal inquiries.
Analytics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It is cookieless: nothing is written to or read from your device, so no consent banner is required under Art. 397 of the Polish Electronic Communications Law (PKE). Your IP address is processed transiently by Cloudflare to derive an anonymous visit count and is not retained or used to identify you.
What is recorded is aggregate only:
- Page views and visit counts
- Referring site and campaign parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign)
- Country, browser, and device type
Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding how the site is found and used. Retention: aggregate statistics only, per Cloudflare's retention policy; no raw visitor records are stored. Recipient: Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), acting as processor under a data processing agreement and certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
First-party analytics
Alongside Cloudflare, this site runs a self-hosted analytics endpoint. No third party is involved: the data is stored in my own Cloudflare D1 database and is never shared, sold, or combined with data from other sources.
It is cookieless — nothing is written to or read from your device — so no consent is required under Art. 397 PKE. Your IP address is never stored. It is combined with your browser user-agent and a secret salt, hashed, and the hash is kept instead. The salt is regenerated every midnight UTC, so the same person visiting on two different days produces two unrelated identifiers. There is no way to link a hash back to you, and no cross-day or cross-site tracking is possible.
What is recorded per event:
- The page visited, and the time
- Referring site and campaign parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign)
- Country (from Cloudflare's edge) and device type (desktop / mobile / tablet)
- Clicks on the email contact button and on links leading off this site
Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in measuring how the site is found and whether it is useful. Retention: event records are deleted automatically after 400 days.
Third-party content
The showcase section loads live statistics directly from external services. Because your browser requests these directly, those services receive your IP address and browser user-agent. They are independent controllers for that request:
- GitHub (api.github.com) — repository and activity statistics
- crates.io — Rust package download statistics
- github-contributions-api.jogruber.de — contribution calendar data
No identifying information about you is sent to these services beyond what any HTTP request necessarily includes.
Contacting me
If you email am@jlogicsoftware.com, your message and address are processed to reply and, where relevant, to discuss an engagement — legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Correspondence is kept only as long as needed for that purpose or as required by tax and accounting law.
Your rights
Under GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to am@jlogicsoftware.com.
Note that the analytics data is anonymous and aggregated — it cannot be linked back to you, so individual rights requests cannot be fulfilled against it (Art. 11 GDPR).
You may also lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority: Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, uodo.gov.pl.
